Getting the call that you've sold your manuscript is exciting. Then you realize an entirely different kind of work needs to be done.
The past two weeks consisted of working full time during the day, and putting in another four hours of editing at night. Normally, I'm in bed by 9:30-10:00. But the first round of edits on my debut book left me falling into bed around midnight. Happy to say, the edits are completed and off to my editor.
In the meantime, I'm working with my critique group on the next story in the series. The entire story is written, but "the girls" are helping me tweak it. If you've ever thought about writing a book, get yourself into a critique group. They are invaluable. Without them, I'd still be writing "One day at band camp..."
